Italida & Platia Pounta Beaches (Koufonisi)
36° 56.1′ N · 25° 37.2′ E
Platia Pounta, nicknamed 'Italida' after the owner of the land above it, is a pair of sand coves with turquoise-green water on Koufonisi's south-east corner, with nothing ashore.
Practical
Position is the sailingissues anchorage pin off the beaches. The bays are more open to swell than Pori, and Grecosailor warns that flat stone slabs and seagrass make sand patches hard to find, with protection lacking in parts of the bay. There are no facilities; the nearest food is the Fanos café-restaurant about 400 m away (koufonisia.gr). Ashore it is about 1.8 km from the village on the coastal path. The Piscina rock pool is a short walk east along the coast.
