Agios Georgios Bay (Sikinos)

36° 41.6′ N · 25° 10.0′ E

Sikinos's most popular beach: sand and small pebbles shaded by tamarisks in the island's south-east corner, sheltered by the islet of Agios Georgios, with a fish taverna on the sand.

Practical

Position from Grecosailor (36°41'35.2"N 25°10'01.4"E). Sailing Issues: anchor in 4-6 m on solid sand and watch for the ledges closer to the beach. It is protected by the Agios Georgios islet but open from ENE through to SW, so treat it as a lunch stop. There is a dinghy quay on the east side. Grecosailor: small, exposed to gusts, and risky to manoeuvre in when gusty; two bollards on the NE side. Ashore: the Almyra fish taverna right by the beach (+30 698 493 1695, municipal list; also in OSM), parking and the bus from Chora (about 6 km). There are rocks on both sides for snorkelling (sikinos.gr).
