Agia Anna Anchorage (Amorgos)
36° 49.4′ N · 25° 54.4′ E · approximate
A calm-day lunch stop off the rocky Agia Anna coves below the Hozoviotissa cliffs, the deep-blue water of The Big Blue.
Practical
Position is approx: about 100 m offshore of OpenStreetMap's Agia Anna beach (36.8240N 25.9061E), checked as water against the OSM coastline. No published pilot data on depth or holding was found, and the coast here drops off steeply: sound carefully and expect to anchor deep or not at all. George Yachts and sailboatliveaboard both say the east coast is generally untenable in the meltemi, so use it only on a settled day with no northerly swell, with someone aboard. The beach is rocky and pebbled with walk or road access from Chora (amorgos.gr); Big Blue café is mapped just above (OSM). Most crews visit by bus or taxi from Katapola instead.
Best for
Settled-day swim under the monastery
Season
Settled weather only; untenable in the meltemi
