Maupiti Manta Dive (Maupiti Diving Club)
16° 27.7′ S · 152° 14.6′ W · approximate
Scuba trips run by the island's dive centre to the manta cleaning stations and the outer reef. They are the best way to see the rays without disturbing them and to dive outside the pass, which yacht crews shouldn't attempt alone.
Practical
Tahiti Tourisme (2023): Maupiti Diving Club is on the north side of the island and can pick up from guesthouses. It offers scuba and snorkel options, from beginner sessions to explorations (no prices published), and dives in both the lagoon and the outer reef, where sharks are seen. Free-diving down to the mantas is prohibited. Coordinate is one OSM-marked manta site (approx), not the dive shop. Scuba is not allowed inside the ZMRs. Call ahead from the anchorage to be collected by their boat; contact details were not verified here.
Best for
Guided manta and outer-reef scuba
