Maupiti Water & Fuel (jerrycan)
16° 27.4′ S · 152° 15.1′ W
Fuel is at the public quay; drinking water comes from the island's spring-fed public taps. Both are limited, so arrive with full tanks and top up by jerrycan.
Practical
Noonsite (2024 profile): diesel and gasoline at the public dock (boats of 5 ft draft or more can come alongside). Local butane bottles are available, but there is no refill service for foreign bottles. Water: drinkable spring water from faucets along the main street and at the public dock, in small quantities only, because the island relies on limited groundwater and rain. OSM maps public taps at the town dock ('Point d'eau', -16.44978, -152.24941), a bottle-refill fountain in Farauru (-16.4393, -152.24928, checked Dec 2022) and others around the ring road. Make your own water if you have a watermaker; don't fill big tanks from the village taps.
Best for
