Topaka Lighthouse (Fakarava North)
16° 2.9′ S · 145° 38.5′ W
A stepped coral-stone pyramid lighthouse from 1957 on the north rim between the village and the pass, the classic bike-ride destination from Rotoava.
Practical
Built in February 1957 of coral stone and cement: 14.2 m high with 10 tiers. It served as a day and night landmark for fishermen and boaters (2025 brief, which spells it 'Tokapa'; OSM calls it the ancient Topaka lighthouse). About 2.5 km north-west of the quay along the road to the airport. Rent bikes at Fakarava Yacht Services. Ancient rori (sea-cucumber) ovens are near the north pass.
