The best fresh produce in the Gambier comes from Taravai's gardens: lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, citrus, sweet potatoes, taro, bananas, papaya, mango and herbs, sold or traded by Valerie and Herve.
Practical
approx: the pin is the village shore by the anchorage. Valerie and Herve (VHF 77) sell or trade at reasonable prices: pamplemousse, avocados, oranges, limes, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, bananas, taro, papayas, mangos, peppers and herbs (rosemary, mint, basil, lemongrass), and sometimes pig or goat in season. Soggy Paws noted these are the last avocados you will see for a long while if you head north. Other residents (Marcel, Gabriel at the old mairie house) have also gardened. Remember this is their home and their work.
