Star Reef Snorkel (Amanu)
17° 48.6′ S · 140° 46.7′ W · approximate
Snorkel the coral of the star-shaped Etoile reef in the middle of Amanu's lagoon, a spot locals send every visitor to.
Practical
Grace of Longstone (2021) rates the Star anchorage a good snorkeling spot, and Fellow Traveler (2010) went with a local for a picnic and snorkel. Dinghy from the Star Anchorage. Ciguatera is reported in Amanu, so look but don't eat reef fish without local advice. Position approximate: on the reef just east of the Sugar Shack anchoring waypoint.
