Orare Manta Anchorage (Hao)
18° 18.2′ S · 140° 49.5′ W
A pretty spot just south of a reef finger on the east side of Hao's lagoon, known for manta rays.
Practical
Sugar Shack (June 2020) dropped at 18°18.2286S / 140°49.4734W in 5 m of sand surrounded by bommies and floated 35 m of chain on 4 floats. Friends anchored farther out at 18°18.2184S / 140°49.5721W in 6.5 m, which Sugar Shack recommends because there are fewer bommies. Good light needed on approach.
Best for
Manta sightings in a quiet corner of the lagoon
