Coordinate from Wikipedia/GeoHack. About 50 km by road from Taiohae; Noonsite (2026) says roughly an hour by taxi on the new road (older sources say 90 minutes on dirt). Daily connections to Tahiti (Air Tahiti; Air Moana also serves Nuku Hiva). No anchorage beside it: Haahopu Bay is the nearest, but almost no traffic passes, so most crews meet flights by taxi from Taiohae (NHYS $40 per person each way, 2020). Air Tahiti office in Taiohae on the main road before the bank: Mon-Fri 8am-noon, Mon/Wed/Fri 1:30pm-4:30pm, +689 40 91 02 25 (2020). Divers get extra baggage allowance on inter-island flights by showing a dive card (2024).
