Kua and Teiki's Garden Lunch (Hakaui)
8° 56.4′ S · 140° 10.1′ W
A home-cooked Marquesan meal in a family garden in the Hakaui valley: fish, chicken, pork or lobster with salad, breadfruit fries and lime water, the classic reward after the waterfall.
Practical
Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap 'Kua et Taiki' node in Hakaui hamlet. The brief (2023) notes several unsigned snacks in Hakaui: ask residents. Reserve on the way up the trail (the house is near the start of the hamlet). 2019 prices: 1,000 XPF per plate, lobster 2,000 XPF (verify locally). Happy to cook vegetarian or vegan (2022). Flies in the garden. Noonsite (2026) names the family as Teiki Totomimi and Kua Teikiteetini, who took on the welcome Daniel used to give sailors.
