Hapatoni Petroglyphs
9° 57.6′ S · 139° 7.0′ W
Ancient rock carvings hidden in the woods above the road between Hanatefau and Vaitahu, a short detour on the walk out of Hapatoni.
Practical
Coordinate from OpenStreetMap ('Petroglyphes'). Directions (2019): walk from Hapatoni toward Vaitahu past Hanatefau bay to where the concrete road climbs the mountain; a small sign about 1.5-2 m up on the right marks a path about 50 m into the woods. Bring bug spray. A viewpoint is mapped just south of it.
Best for
