BoatNews notes the town hall on stilts, designed as a cyclone shelter. Faaite is an associated commune of Anaa. Not a port of entry. Water: the village relies on rainwater, since a desalination plant didn't last (BoatNews), so don't count on filling tanks. The mairie building 'Teariki nui no Faaite' (2012-13) is a cyclone shelter for 147 people, and the school shelter takes 362 (2021 sheet). Faaite is linked to Fakarava by a radio relay, with Vini cell service and internet (2021).
