Bernard Moitessier's Motu (Poro-Poro, Ahe)
14° 32.3′ S · 146° 21.3′ W · approximate
The legendary French sailor Bernard Moitessier lived on Ahe's motu Poro-Poro in a fare he built himself in the 1970s before leaving for Moorea in 1978: a pilgrimage for anyone who has read The Long Way.
Practical
Position is the Tenukupara village point only (the motu's location is not given in our sources), so ask in the village which motu is Poro-Poro and whether the owner welcomes visitors before taking the dinghy there. English Wikipedia says he lived on Ahe for two years in the late 1970s.
