Gruž Harbour – port of entry

42° 39.6′ N · 18° 4.9′ E

Dubrovnik's commercial and ferry port in Gruž bay, north-west of the Old Town. It is the year-round border crossing for the far south of Croatia and the place to clear in if you arrive from Montenegro or Italy outside Cavtat's season.

Practical

Coordinate is Gruž bay (OSM). Customs at Gruž harbour is open 24/7 (+385 20 772 065), opposite Marina Frapa; police (passports, crew list) and the harbourmaster's office (vignette, crew list stamp) are on the waterfront. Croatian rules: go by the shortest route to the nearest port of entry; buy the vignette (needed for boats 3 m+ or 5 kW+), valid to the end of the year; carry crew/passenger list, registration, insurance and seaworthiness papers. Tourist (sojourn) tax is paid online at nautika.evisitor.hr. Before leaving Croatia, clear out at a port of entry. Big cruise ships and fast ferries use the harbour, so keep clear and keep a watch on VHF 10. There are only a few berths for yachts on the port quays, mostly for large yachts.
