Croatian anchoring rules (2025) – Dubrovnik area

42° 39.5′ N · 18° 5.2′ E · approximate

A short summary of the national boating rules that came in during April 2025 and apply in all the anchorages in this area. Pinned at the Dubrovnik port office in Gruž for reference.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate (Port of Dubrovnik office, Gruž). From April 2025: boats under 15 m must stay at least 50 m from the coast when under way, boats 15–30 m at least 150 m. No mooring if the boat and its ground tackle reach more than 50 m from the shore. No anchoring within 150 m of natural beaches or where the harbourmaster forbids it. Tenders may run within 500 m of the mother ship (except trips to the nearest quay or harbour). SUPs, jet boards and jet skis only between sunrise and sunset; jet skis no more than 300 m from shore and never in swimming zones. Mark anchor chains and lines so they are visible, and do not tie to or damage shore vegetation. Use the nIS (Nautical Information Service) app for local bans and notices.
