West Caicos Anchorage (dive moorings)
21° 39.8′ N · 72° 28.4′ W · approximate
An overnight stop off the uninhabited west coast of West Caicos, lying to dive-boat moorings over a sand shelf at the top of one of the sheerest walls in the country.
Practical
Coordinate approximate: about 0.3 nm off Yankee Town on the west coast. Noonsite says dive-boat mooring balls may be used at night and anchoring is prohibited; noforeignland reviewers report the buoys in about 14 m, that you must leave them for dive boats at set hours, and that a TCI cruising permit is required. Sheltered in normal E–SE trades; untenable in westerlies or northerly swell. No services; Provo is the nearest supply. marinas.com also names an anchorage in the lee of Company Point at the north end.
