Statue of the Virgin & Inner-Bay Coral Shoal (Castillogrande)

A statue of the Virgin stands on a coral shoal at the entrance to Cartagena's inner bay off the tip of Castillogrande - a landmark every yacht passes on the way to Manga, and a hazard to keep to one side of.

OSM maps the 'Monumento a la Virgen' here. Club Náutico's entry guide: entering the inner bay there is a coral shoal marked by the statue of the Virgin; ships can pass either side within the buoyed channels. Stay in the buoyed channel; don't cut the corner toward Castillogrande or Manga.
