Manga Anchorage – Área de Fondeo No. 2 (Club Náutico)

Cartagena's main yacht anchorage, a designated box off Manga's Avenida Miramar right outside Club Náutico, with the walled city a 15-minute walk away and supermarkets, chandleries and marine trades all within a few blocks.

Position is the centroid of the official Área de Fondeo No. 2 polygon published in Club Náutico's Cruiser's Guide (vertices 10°24'49.7"N 75°32'41.0"W, 10°24'43.9"N 75°32'34.9"W, 10°24'39.8"N 75°32'26.7"W, 10°24'38.0"N 75°32'28.0"W, 10°24'41.2"N 75°32'37.1"W, 10°24'48.6"N 75°32'42.4"W). The national cruising guide says designated yacht areas off Manga have at least 5 m (16 ft) depth, and Club Náutico counts space for roughly 70–80 boats nearby. Fully protected inner-bay water in all directions, but when the wind blows off the land boats collect city dust and grit. Anchor inside the box: the Port Captain complains about boats outside it, and the Coast Guard will move you if you are in a restricted zone. Keep clear of the cruise-ship terminal where frigates, liners and tugs maneuver. Dinghy dock at Club Náutico (paid; the Club de Pesca stopped offering anchored-boat dinghy service in July 2025). The small Muelle Gioconda on Av. Miramar is also reachable by dinghy. Security: never leave the dinghy in the water at night; hoist it, chain the outboard and remove the fuel tank (Coast Guard patrols but thefts happen). Hailing channel for cruisers is VHF 68. Water is drinkable from the city supply; Carulla supermarket is 2 minutes' walk from Club Náutico.
