San San Bay Anchorage (Pellew Island)

18° 10.6′ N · 76° 23.4′ W

A reef-sheltered bay behind little Pellew Island, next door to the Blue Lagoon and Frenchman's Cove: Port Antonio and Kingston yachtsmen's lunch-and-swim spot.

Practical

Position is Virgintino's approach waypoint (18 10.65N, 076 23.43W), about a mile NE of the entrance - not the anchorage itself. From it steer 249 M between the two reefs, ideally with the sun behind you. Leave Pellew Island and its reef to port, and the reef off Alligator Head to starboard. Two spots: south of the small reef west of Pellew Island in about 20 ft, or the SW corner behind Pellew. Calm conditions only. You may not anchor here before clearing into Jamaica (clear at Port Antonio first).
