Quarantine Anchorage – Área de Fondeo No. 1 ('Anchorage F', Cartagena)

The officially designated special/quarantine anchorage just north of Fuerte del Pastelillo, now popular with cruisers because the 5-knot speed limit is enforced and it is better protected than the main box.
Practical
Position is the centroid of the official Área de Fondeo No. 1 polygon in Club Náutico's Cruiser's Guide (10°25'05.6"N 75°32'52.5"W; 10°25'04.6"N 75°32'53.8"W; 10°25'00.4"N 75°32'44.7"W; 10°24'58.3"N 75°32'47.5"W). The guide says it is 'not always allowed' but open (2025); ask your agent or Port Control. Night party/tour boats make it noisy. Nearest dinghy dock is Club Náutico (July 2025). Stay inside the red buoys that mark the Bahía de las Ánimas channel and the La Bodeguita and Los Pegasos docks.
