Practical

Position approximate — set in the shallows off the west side of Solarte's north-west tip, checked against the OpenStreetMap Isla Solarte outline. Tourism Panama: the Punta Hospital trail is 3 km (medium), starts at a beach, runs through jungle and ends at Punta Hospital, a beach suited to snorkeling; the trail is private, and the entrance fee includes snorkel gear and a towel; bring cash for the restaurants near the beach. An OpenStreetMap guidepost on Solarte (2024) points walkers 'left/northwest for Hospital Point Beach' at 9.32679, -82.21003. Visit Panama: suitable for beginners, coral gardens, sea anemones and fish, usually little current. Boats can also drop snorkelers directly; this is a busy water-taxi route between Bocas and Bastimentos, so tow a float and flag. Our sources give no fee amount.
