Playa Blanca Beach Restaurants (La Puntilla & El Pajal, Barú)
10° 13.7′ N · 75° 36.4′ W
Dozens of family-run palapa restaurants and hostels line Playa Blanca's two sectors, La Puntilla and El Pajal, serving fried fish, patacones and coconut rice on plastic tables in the sand.
Practical
Position is Donde El Mopri in La Puntilla (OSM). OSM maps a long row of beach restaurants here, among them El Nativo de Barú, Juana Tres Palacios, Hakuna Matata and Bana Beach in La Puntilla, and Brisa y Mar, Dónde Celmira, Carmen de Colombia and Mágico Atardecer in El Pajal, plus the Coco Bongo bar. Wikivoyage calls Playa Blanca the best beach on the tours but warns that vendors can be overwhelming - agree prices before you sit down or order. Busiest from late morning to mid-afternoon when the Cartagena day boats arrive. Yachts anchor off Puerto Naito (national guide A04, 10°14'29.386"N 75°36'41.470"W) and dinghy in; the park says boats may not embark from Playa Blanca to other park sectors.
Best for
A cheap fish lunch on the sand
