Ocho Rios Anchorage & Port of Entry

18° 25.0′ N · 77° 6.9′ W

A busy cruise-ship bay with jet skis and duty-free shops, an official port of entry, and the base for climbing Dunn's River Falls.

Practical

Position is Virgintino's Fl G 3s buoy at the entrance (18 25.00N, 077 06.90W); Noonsite gives the outer-harbour entrance as 18 24.74N, 077 06.54W. Options: the middle of the harbour past the cruise dock (good holding, most exposed); the cramped 'marina basin' to starboard among local boats (best protection if you find room); or behind the reef at the outside of the harbour in 7-10 ft (best view and protection, farthest from the landing). Virgintino (2015) rates it Fair in northers and suggests better harbours nearby. A 2014 cruiser was advised by locals not to leave a boat unattended here. Clearance available; report with your transire.
