Mixing Bowl / Three Fathom Wall (Little Cayman)

19° 41.1′ N · 80° 4.7′ W

Where Bloody Bay Wall meets Jackson Wall: the mooring sits in about 18-20 ft on the reef top and the sheer wall is a short swim away, on the most famous stretch of wall in the Caymans.

Practical

Position is the DoE public mooring 'Three Fathom Wall' (2023 GPX) - the site dive boats call the Mixing Bowl. The mooring is in about 18 ft (hence 'Three Fathom Wall'). Inside Bloody Bay Marine Park (Marine Reserve): no take, no anchoring outside sand. Settled trades only - Bloody Bay is no place to be in a norther (use South Hole Sound). Marine Park rules apply: use the DoE public mooring (free; white 18- or 24-inch buoy with a yellow stripe and yellow pick-up line; 18-inch for vessels up to 60 ft, 24-inch up to 100 ft; not in 25 knots or more; 3 hours or less; never leave the boat unattended - DoE brochure 2021), never anchor on coral, no take in Marine Parks.
