Mar Negro Mangrove Lagoon (Jobos Bay)

17° 56.7′ N · 66° 15.6′ W

Mar Negro is the mangrove lagoon system on the western side of Jobos Bay inside the research reserve: sheltered dinghy and kayak water for birds and, with luck, manatees.

Practical

Coordinates from GeoNames (Mar Negro). NOAA lists Mar Negro among the reserve's units, along with the Cayos Caribes. Shallow water: go by kayak or dinghy at low speed, and watch for manatees. The reserve's trails and kayak route are open at all times (DRNA).

Best for
