The northern end of Lac holds about 100 ha of mangroves - the only significant mangrove forest on Bonaire and among the best preserved in the Caribbean - where guided kayak and snorkel tours drift through root tunnels full of juvenile fish.
Practical
Ramsar site since 1980, extended in 2021 to include the fringing corals; home to green turtles, queen conch and mangroves (Wikipedia, Tourism Corporation Bonaire).
