Hay Festival Cartagena de Indias (late January)
10° 25.4′ N · 75° 33.0′ W · approximate
The Colombian edition of Britain's Hay literary festival fills the old city's plazas, theaters and cloisters with authors, readings and debates for four days every late January, in the heart of the dry season.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate, placed in the walled city (OSM old-city position); talks are held at venues around the historic center. The festival's site says the next edition runs 28–31 January 2027. The national cruising guide lists the Hay Festival in January among Cartagena's main events, and Wikivoyage describes it as a late-January literary festival with public readings by authors. Many sessions are in Spanish with some in English; book popular events early through the festival site. The city fills up - another reason to have the boat at anchor rather than relying on hotels. Club Náutico is a 15-minute walk from the old city.
