Guanaja Waterfall Hike

16° 29.1′ N · 85° 53.5′ W

Guanaja has the Bay Islands' only waterfalls: from the Michael Rock area a trail climbs through pine and forest to a cascade and small pool, with the island's high ground beyond.

Practical

Coordinate is the 'Waterfall Path' footway from OpenStreetMap near Mangrove Bight/Michael Rock. Islands.com notes Guanaja's waterfalls and that the highest point is Michael Rock Peak. The climb is steep and slippery after rain; pools are deeper after rain. Wear shoes and bring water and bug spray; ask locally about trail access (some is on private land).

Best for

Freshwater swim and a forest walk
