Grace Bay & Bight Anchorage (large-vessel moorings)

21° 48.1′ N · 72° 10.7′ W · approximate

Open roadstead inside the Grace Bay barrier reef where superyachts lie to permanent moorings and smaller boats anchor off the resorts.

Practical

Coordinate approximate: about 0.3 nm off the Grace Bay Beach access marker, inside the reef — check charts. Visit TCI notes that boats drawing over 8 ft are limited to the permanent moorings off Grace Bay/the Bight, Parrot Cay and Malcolm's Road, and that Grace Bay is a Large Vessel Anchoring Zone; boats over 60 ft need a DEMA anchoring permit. Anchor only on clean sand — reef and seagrass damage brings heavy fines in the national park. A 2019 cruiser entered via Stubbs Cut, anchored off the Seven Stars resort and warned of mooring balls near the cut. Rolly or untenable in northerly swell.
