Possibly Jamaica's safest harbour, at the island's SE corner under the Blue and John Crow Mountains; the Coast Guard and Marine Police base doubles as the clearance point.
Practical
Position is Noonsite's Coast Guard wharf (17 53.11N, 076 19.06W); Virgintino's approach waypoint is just south of the Lee Reef buoy (17 51.66N, 076 19.55W). Well protected from wind and sea. The Coast Guard let Virgintino's boat use its dock free, with water (2015); a 2014 boat cleared in here without trouble. Morant Bay town is reached by dinghy across very shoal water (tilt the outboard). Handy for clearing in or out when heading to or from Haiti or the Windward Passage along the south coast.
Best for
Quiet clearance in Jamaica's SE corner
