Bocas Marina (Bocas Yacht Club & Marina, Isla Colón)
9° 20.2′ N · 82° 14.8′ W · approximate
The long-running cruiser hub of Bocas: concrete floating docks a few minutes' dinghy ride from town, the Calypso Cantina bar and a yard team that keeps boats safe while owners fly home.
Practical
Position approximate — derived from Noonsite's description ('very near Bocas airport', a short dinghy ride from town); plot the entrance from your chart. Listed by Noonsite as Bocas Yacht Club & Marina (website bocasmarina.com; tel +507 757-9800): about 90 berths, concrete floating docks for yachts to about 120 ft, 30-amp shore power (metered), water, fuel dock (diesel and gasoline), Wi-Fi, showers, laundry, on-site repairs and absentee boat care; reps for Marine Warehouse parts shipping and help with cruising-permit extensions (Noonsite; Ocean Posse 2026). Ray Jason (2014) reported up to 13 ft of draft carried to some docks — verify locally. Approach: 'stay close to Bocas town when going around the unmarked reef; the marina will talk you in' — one 9-ft-draft yacht saw 0.3 ft under the keel at low tide over soft bottom (Noonsite cruiser report, 2019). Monthly rates are much cheaper than weekly (Savarona, 2017). Shuttle to town daily except Sunday; some recent reviews report inconsistent water and services (noforeignland). Affiliated boatyard with 60-ton travel lift is next to Almirante (see Bocas Yacht Services).
