The Old Wreck (night & bioluminescence dive)

9° 20.1′ N · 82° 14.6′ W · approximate

A small ferry that sank in 1997 off Isla Colón, now a favourite night dive where puffers, shrimp and seahorses shelter and every fin kick lights up with bioluminescence.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate, set in the water off the south side of Isla Colón (checked against the OpenStreetMap Isla Colón outline; the earlier position fell on land) where Tourism Panama's caption places the wreck. Dive with an operator who knows the mark. Maximum depth 45 ft (14 m), basic to medium level. Crabs, shrimp, colourful fish, puffer fish and seahorses. Popular for night dives and bioluminescence (Tourism Panama). Night dives require an Advanced certification (Visit Panama).
