Bear's Den (Roatán)
16° 20.2′ N · 86° 34.1′ W
A multi-level north-shore site where a swim-through from 40 ft sand leads out to the wall at 60 ft, with shallow caverns 'where a bear might sleep' and brain-coral shallows good enough for snorkellers.
Practical
Coordinate from PADI's site page; Wikivoyage lists 16.33677, -86.56873 (Wannadive's user waypoint is further off and was not used). PADI: wall from 60 ft to 100 ft+, caverns only for trained divers with lights. Shallow reef crest near the buoy suits snorkellers in calm weather. Marine Park site near Sandy Bay — dive with an operator.
Best for
Caverns and a swim-through to the wall; snorkelling on top
