Coordinate approximate: placed beside the Swimming Pool anchorage waypoint (Balvenie 09°35.364'N 078°40.480'W); use your chart. Names vary: Moxon calls Morodup the island yachties know as Barbecue Island; Spirit of Argo calls it BBQ Island (Turtle Island); Banedup, across the pool, is 'Bug Island'. The caretaker family charges a landing fee: $1 per person was reported in 2012, and in 2016 a caretaker began charging boats to come ashore (amount not given). Good snorkelling on coral bommies off the north end, and on toward the inside of the outer reef. Beach dinners with other boats were still running in 2023 (Walkabout). Whale bones are displayed on the island. Take all rubbish back aboard.
