A low stone battery sitting almost in the water on the east side of the Bocachica strait, the other half of the crossfire that guarded Cartagena's main entrance.

OSM position ('Fuerte San José', Bocachica). Spanish Wikipedia: a smaller fort in the sea in front of San Fernando. The national guide names the San José and San Fernando forts as the gateposts of the Bocachica access channel. Best appreciated from the deck as you transit; it is close to the buoyed channel - keep to the channel.
