Simms Public Dock (port of entry)
23° 28.7′ N · 75° 14.1′ W
The small government harbour at Simms, one of Long Island's oldest settlements, listed by Bahamas Customs as a port of entry and used by the George Town ferry.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap Simms ferry terminal beside a small marina basin. Bahamas Customs lists Simms Public Dock as a port of entry; Wikivoyage says clearance here is on request, so arrange officers in advance (they come from Stella Maris). The post office for the north end is at Simms (Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, per Stella Maris Resort). The basin is small and shallow; check depth with the dinghy first. An ActiveCaptain cruiser reports a bank shortcut toward Simms (see passages).
Best for
Clearing in mid-island and the Simms post office
