Pigeon Creek dinghy exploration (Bennett's Harbour)
24° 33.7′ N · 75° 38.6′ W · approximate
The mangrove creek behind Bennett's Harbour runs south toward Alligator Point. Cruisers dinghy it to chase green turtles and rays, including a school of large stingrays that moves through on the tide.
Practical
Coordinate is the ActiveCaptain Bennett's Harbour marker at the creek mouth. Go on a rising tide; it gets too shallow to reach Alligator Point. A popular trick is to motor up on the last of the flood and drift back to the anchorage on the ebb. Locals say spotted eagle rays gather at the creek's southern outlet near Alligator Point. Small wrecks lie in the harbour near the dock.
Best for
A tide-timed dinghy safari for turtles and rays
