Orange Creek grocery (Orange Creek Inn)

24° 39.0′ N · 75° 43.0′ W · approximate

The ground floor of the two-storey white Orange Creek Inn holds a grocery, a laundromat and a propane refill: the main provisioning stop for boats at the north end of Cat Island.

Practical

Coordinate is the GeoNames gazetteer point for Orange Creek settlement (only 0.01 degree resolution); the store is on the shore road beside the Seventh-day Adventist church. Cruisers report a good supply of basics at fair prices, no alcohol, and closed on Saturday (Sabbath); modest dress is appreciated. In 2019 a cruiser could still get propane and use the laundry even though the sign said closed, so ask. One 2014 report said propane refills are just south of the store, on the first road north. A phone number given in a 2010s listing was 242-354-4042 (verify locally). Land the dinghy at the sea-wall steps in front of the inn.
