Morgan's Bluff Harbour (government dock)
25° 10.4′ N · 78° 1.7′ W
The small commercial basin at Morgan's Bluff where the mail boat and fishing boats tie up; a sheltered wall for cruisers when a front brings north wind into the outer cove.
Practical
Position from ActiveCaptain ('Morgan's Bluff - 2', in the basin). About 10 ft in the entrance channel and much of the basin (ActiveCaptain). Harbourmaster on site monitors VHF 16; a 2023 review paid $6 a day to lie on the wall with free, unlimited water and power reported free on noforeignland (verify locally). If there is room on the western wall beside the fishing boats, take it when the wind has north in it. The mail boat arrives Friday night and leaves Sunday afternoon (2023 report); boats on the wall are boxed in while it is there and it monopolises the hose. Fuel is available in the harbour but described as expensive. The old outer dock built for the Nassau freshwater barges is disused and a sizeable wreck lies sunk alongside it. Trash: ask locally. Rental cars can be arranged; get an all-in quote including delivery.
Best for
All-weather refuge at the north end, with free water
