Man Island Anchorage

25° 32.3′ N · 76° 38.5′ W

A deep, uninhabited-island anchorage north of Harbour Island used by megayachts for beach days, with a sand beach at the south end and turtles and rays on the coral heads — a calm alternative to busy Dunmore Town.

Practical

7-10 ft; good holding in sand and grass. Very good protection N through SE; open elsewhere but surrounded by shallows so waves do not build — Waterway Guide says there are worse places to ride out a front. Wooden dock at the north end. noforeignland's 'Man Island South' (25.5401, -76.6395) has about 10 ft over sand with turtles, a stingray and reef fish around small coral heads; watch for heads on entry. On the Devil's Backbone route; a 2021 Cruising World writer anchored here and snorkelled the outside reef.

Best for

Beach day and snorkelling near Harbour Island
