Pink Sands Beach (Harbour Island)

More than three miles of pink-tinged sand along Harbour Island's Atlantic side, coloured by crushed shells of foraminifera and sheltered by an outer reef that keeps the water wide, shallow and calm.
Practical
About 5 minutes by golf cart or a short walk across the island from Dunmore Town (about 1/4 mile from Valentines). 50-100 ft wide. The pink shows best in wet sand at the water's edge. Hotels along the beach (Pink Sands, Coral Sands) have beach bars and restaurants. Horseback rides along the beach are offered. No lifeguards; check conditions in swell.
