Lone Tree on Girl's Bank (Harbour Island)
25° 30.4′ N · 76° 38.3′ W
A bleached driftwood tree standing alone on the sand flats of Girl's Bank at Harbour Island's north end, one of the island's best-known photo spots.
Practical
Coordinate from the Harbour Island Guide map marker 'Lone Tree Girls Bank', which says the tree was displaced onto the bank by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. On the harbour (west) side of the island north of Dunmore Town; at low tide you can wade the flats around it. Reach by golf cart or a short walk from the north end of Bay Street, or by dinghy from the Fort Point or Little Bay anchorages at half tide or better, watching the shallows.
Best for
Low-tide photo stop at the north end
