Hatchet Bay Cave
25° 22.0′ N · 76° 31.2′ W
About a mile of undeveloped limestone cave with stalactites, stalagmites, roosting bats and 19th-century graffiti, reached by a farm track off the Queen's Highway near the old Hatchet Bay silos.
Practical
Position from OpenStreetMap, matching ShowCaves (25 deg 21' 59.9" N, 76 deg 31' 12.8" W). Roughly 3 miles north of Alice Town on the Queen's Highway: bike, taxi or rent a car (a 2018 cruiser walked it from the anchorage and called it a long hot walk; carry water). Turn onto the farm road at the silos. Free, no set hours (ShowCaves, 2020 data). The cave is not developed: bring at least two lights per person, sturdy shoes and clothes you can get dirty; beyond the first chambers wear long trousers and consider a local guide.
