Alice Town (Hatchet Bay) fuel, water and groceries

25° 21.1′ N · 76° 29.1′ W

Alice Town, the settlement wrapped around Hatchet Bay, is a small farming village: enough for water, basic groceries, ice and a beer, not a full provision.

Practical

Position is the Alice Town village node in OpenStreetMap. Land at the community-built public dinghy dock with the big gazebo. Within a short walk: piped water, a laundromat and the Triple TLC grocery with fresh produce (Sail Magazine, 2014); a 2016 cruiser found water one block up and half a block left of the dinghy dock, and an ice plant across from the Front Porch (ActiveCaptain). Farrington's Boaters Haven, just east of the dinghy dock, had a small store with basics, ice cream, a small laundry, a cafe-bar and a couple of rental cars in 2019 (ActiveCaptain). Marinas.com lists a grocery selling beer, wine and spirits, a place to buy water and a marine electrical repair shop. Fuel: only an unverified report of a small one-pump gas station and no diesel; plan diesel for Governor's Harbour, Rock Sound or Cape Eleuthera. A 2025 Waterway Guide reviewer says you need a car or taxi for anything beyond the mini market.
