Conception Island Wall (Savo Wall)

23° 49.3′ N · 75° 7.7′ W

A 1.5-mile coral wall along the island's western edge that starts at 45-55 ft and plunges thousands of feet, with caves, swim-throughs, black coral, reef sharks, big groupers and turtles - widely called one of the finest wall dives in the region.

Practical

Position is the OSM-mapped 'Savo Wall' (ref CI001) off the west side. Sail Abacos: five permanent mooring balls mark dive sites along the wall; Ball 2 sits on a coral mound at 55 ft with a cave and tunnel to 87 ft; Ball 3 has a large anchor chain draped down the face; Ball 4 sits on a shallower mound at 33-47 ft. Current generally mild; visibility often over 100 ft. Use the dive moorings rather than anchoring. Remote: no chamber or dive shop nearby - dive conservatively. No-take park.
