Conception Island settlement ruins
23° 50.4′ N · 75° 7.5′ W · approximate
Stone walls and the shells of five buildings of native mortar, limestone and shell - the remains of a small community that lived here around the early 1900s, on a hill looking west toward Long Island.
Practical
BNT places the ruins between West Bay and the creek mouth on a hill overlooking Long Island; Southern Boating puts stone walls and building remains near the south end of the anchorage. Point placed inland of the south end of West Bay (derived from those descriptions and the OSM coastline). Leave everything in place; ruins are part of the park.
Best for
A short walk from the south end of West Bay
