Conception Island moorings (West Bay)
23° 51.2′ N · 75° 7.3′ W · approximate
Three heavy-duty Bahamas National Trust moorings in West Bay, donated to the Trust for larger yachts.
Practical
BNT says 3 moorings are installed for larger boats; Southern Boating says they were donated for very large yachts. No published positions, fees or booking system were found, so this point is only the West Bay anchorage area (derived from the Noonsite anchorage position and the OSM coastline) - look for the balls on arrival. Smaller boats normally anchor in sand. Same exposure as the anchorage: leave before westerlies or north swell. Separate dive moorings (five, per Sail Abacos) mark the west-side wall.
Best for
Large yachts that should not drop anchor near coral
Season
Nov-May; untenable in W or N winds
