Coco Bay Anchorage (Little Ragged Island)
22° 9.5′ N · 75° 42.3′ W
A scenic bay on Little Ragged Island's west side with sand beaches and coral heads to snorkel, fabulous in easterlies.
Practical
ActiveCaptain: follow charts approaching from the NW; anchor as close in as draft allows on a sandy spot among light turtle grass, depths over 2.5 m (8 ft). Protected in most directions except SW round to NW. Good BTC signal from Duncan Town. Great snorkelling around coral heads. A 2012 crew anchored off Little Ragged after dark and were rolled by surge between the cays.
Best for
East-wind anchoring and snorkelling at the bottom of the chain
Season
Dec–May; best Mar–May between fronts; leave or move to a front refuge before W–N winds
