Clarence Town government packing house (produce and fish)

23° 6.0′ N · 74° 57.7′ W · approximate

A government packing house on the Clarence Town harbour front where local farmers bring fruit and vegetables and fishermen sell their catch: the south island's answer to the Salt Pond farmers' market.

Practical

Position is approximate, at the Clarence Town government dock: the Beaches of Long Island guide places the packing house on the harbour beach road between the government pier, Majors Petroleum and Harbour Point. ActiveCaptain says produce from local farms and seafood from local fishermen are best on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The guide notes fewer items than Salt Pond and a leaning toward bulk quantities, though they will sell small amounts. Land the dinghy at the north side of the government dock.
